How to use the Power Predictor

 You can start uploading your ‘weather station’ results one month after installation. Three months’ data is usually enough to provide the necessary advice – but you can refine your results by waiting longer if you wish. For fun you could update a printable on-screen report every day!  The licence you buy with the Power Predictor is good for one year and renewable thereafter (and you can buy multiple licences for sharing the device with neighbours and friends).

About the new feed-in tariff scheme

(They pay you to generate your own electricity!)
For a typical home of business the annual reward for installing solar or wind energy equipment could be over £800. (This is how you recoup the cost of the solar or wind turbine equipment – and once that’s paid off, you’re into profit.)  Roughly, this is how it works:
1.    £700 per year from the Generation tariff
       For 25 years you are paid a set rate by your energy supplier for each unit of electricity you

       generate. This is the government’s way of encouraging us to go ‘low-carbon’.
2.    £25 per year from the Export tariff
       Your energy supplier will give you a further 3p/kWh for each unit you export back to the  

       electricity grid.
3.    £110 per year reduction in current electricity bills
       Because you’re making your own electricity you won’t need to buy in as much from your energy

       supplier now.
